it's not 2000s related but "What we talk about when we talk about love" by Raymond Carver is full of the most beautiful short stories !!

I recently finished a YA novel called "Monday's Not Coming" by Tiffany D. Jackson - it's really gripping, and while I should warn it gets quite dark, it's an important, impactful story that's written super well.

'pretty girl thirteen' by Liz Coley is an interesting but kinda disturbing book. It's about a girl, Angie Chapman, who returns home one day from girl scouts greeted with a shocked look on her parents face as she finds out she's been missing for 3 years. Angie needs to piece together her kidnapping by remembering things that her mind tried so hard to forget. The book deals with themes so ig a little trigger warning for some people such as mental illness, family abuse, sexual assault.

I really doubt the books I read are your style but I recently finished Me by Elton John and I cannot stress enough how fantastic it is. Gray by Pete Wentz is another one I really love and it may be a bit more up your alley than the previous one lol. I also keep coming back to Neil Patrick Harris's Build Your Own Autobiography since it's a choose your own adventure story and it has so much content to it!

Hello!
I recommend "I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter" by Erika L. Sanchez. It's an easy and interesting read The audiobook format is pretty good too!!
