If you are wondering who Xennials are its an age group that was born around 1977-198x? Note some sources will go for 1985-1986 as the transition point between Xennials to Millennials and some will include 1975-1976 as the transition point between GenX and Xennials. This group share the characteristics of both Gen X and Millennials at the same time and they were in their teens and early 20's in the early 2000's like I was.
Its kind of like people born in 1997-2001 where this group is a transition point between Millennial and Gen Z

God I hate these terms, i'd rather refer to people by the decade they were born in. This millennial, gen z, gen x, god knows what, shit is all just a marketing thing. Also, people who refer to others by the generation they're in tend to be grossly out of touch at best and toxic at worst

It's also super confusing too. Every once in a while it does seem like theres some new term thats been created. Not that it's an issue, but it's just very confusing.

Ugh, what next, early 2000s babies are a generation of their own, early 90s kids, uh... kids born in 1927 are a generation? It's all pointless when we already can use the decade they were born in as a generational thing. Not make up terms that people are simply gonna use as insults.

I agree because every 20 years we hear about "New Generation coming out" and yes there is a tribalism factor here whenever generations are brought up.

You also gotta include the boomer factor here that gets brought up too.

Using those terms are just a way to make oneself look more ~educated~. At least thats what it looks like to me.

It's tribalism only difference here is that it's not about politics, gender, religion and race it's generations and age groups.

They're dropping new generation terms like it's an patch to a video game

Same. I'm tecnically Gen Z,but imo someone born in 95 has more in common with me than someone born in the early 80's, just like I would have more in common with an older millenial than someone born in like 2010. There isn't anything wrong with that, but a 90s baby will have a vastly different experience than a 2010s baby. The dates also keep shifting and are super debatable. It seems like a way to say the younger generation is bad. Another issue I have with it, is regardless of gen, people are going to be culturally different. Location, class, and environment all play a roll in what people grew up with.
