Palo Alto by James Franco is one of my favorite reads. The book is quite short but extremely raw. I read it my Junior year of high school which at the time I felt it was a mistake. It gave me a perspective of the typical teenage boy's mind and I felt like my entire life had been a lie. My heart hurt for some of the characters and some of them I completely resented as they reminded me of people from my own high school. There is also a movie based on the book directed by Gia Coppola obviously featuring James Franco. I would definitely say the film is more of a PG version of the book even though the film is rated R. Apparently the book was also based on his high school experience. As a teen who grew up in California not to far from Palo Alto in a community very similar I would say this book is extremely accurate.

Memoires of a geisha by Arthur Green! I just recently finished it and I loved it! It's a long story but it is quite fast-paced and well written. It tells the life story of a girl in 1929 Japan who is sold and becomes a Geisha. The book is beautiful but I do believe not everything is culturally accurate.

My all-time favourite book is 'What a Carve Up!' by Jonathan Coe. I love mysteries and this book is based around one. It's satirical too, so it's really funny and over the top. I've actually saved the book so I can re-read it some day. I'm also a fan of 'American Psycho'. I guess I just like the satirical stuff, plus the killing scenes are interesting to read about. 'The Green Mile', 'The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon', and 'Misery' by Stephen King are really superb as well. I am currently reading 'The Shining', liking it so far

i just read a book called 'the good earth' by pearl buck for a class and i usually hate reading but it was sooooo good... it's basically about the complicated love life of a farmer in rural china and was written in the 1930s but the characters seem so modern and relatable, i'd recommend to anyone!!

i really enjoyed "the time keeper" by mitch albom recently, i had gotten it along with a couple of other random books from a thrift store some time ago so now i started reading them. it's about time as the title suggests and it made me think a bit, definitely an interesting read.

Elton John's autobiography, Me, is possibly the best book I've ever read. Gray by Pete Wentz is about his relationship with Ashlee Simpson and its really poetic and it made me cry a few times.

There was this really huge book that I found in the library in middle school that I read, I cant remember the name of it but it was basically like toy story but with porcelain dolls and stuff, I remember it had an awesome story but I cant really totally remember how it went, as for recent reads I've been reading a book called the Con Artist which is about this comic book artist at a con and he gets framed for a murder of one of his old colleagues/rival and he needs to clear his name, the other book is called StarWorld about two girls, one popular while the other's a bit of an outcast but find out they have ALOT in common once they start roleplaying and basically making up their own little world, and the outcast has a crush on the popular girl. OH and Also Rayne & Delilah's Midnite Matinee is another good book I finished ,really got me in the feels..
